Growing Futures is a space built around outdoor learning and the benefits of spending time in nature. Groups attend to learn about growing and other environment-centred skills. It is a space designed to nurture the local community and any groups that wish to visit. It also aims to promote ecological awareness and responsibility.
The day event will see Growing Futures join together with local arts & heath partners Superact and their project Netplants which aims to connect vulnerable people across Europe with the environment at its source. Netplants has been working closely with refugees of Ashley Community Housing who have greatly benefited from an introduction to UK outdoor-living techniques, and so the community will be invited with a view to learning more local skills and informally sharing stories from their home countries around food and fire.
